How It Works
Upload an image you want to 💫 Enhance 🤌
Select the area of the image you need to focus on
Verbally say “Zoom” as desired, then “Enhance” when the selection feels right
See a visually enhanced image with an auto-generated comment describing the scene
Also… I own a Subaru… and was perhaps eating a bagel at the time of image selection…
Notes from Building
Oh, I can do that now. Things that seemed like sci-fi… work now?
We’ve been hearing “enhance the image” jokes for years. One of our favorite UX books, Make It So, digs into how sci-fi quietly inspires real UI later on. And when you spot a chance to bring your favorite sci-fi trope to life, you kind of have to go for it.
Well sure, the button works, but…
Yes, we could make an “enhance” tool that works by clicking buttons. But this project doesn’t just have a functional goal. It has to feel like the big screen. It has to feel like the future. So of course we built a voice assistant you can say “zoom” and “enhance” to. We took what we learned from ElevenLabs and built a voice agent to guide the discovery. Because it wouldn’t land the same if it was just us clicking around on a screen.
Building prototypes produces compound interest on lessons learned.
We learned about the faithful-to-image nature of Nano Banana image generation in Mocktopus, voice agents and ElevenLabs’ tools in SoleMate. With those tools already in our metaphorical toolbelt, we could apply them much faster and with more confidence, having learned their nuances, benefits, and challenges early. And now everything clicks into place.
