Alcor mini iSED
Novel hardware and software architecture for a new lab device — Linux system-on-module, modern orchestration and UI — that became the foundation for Alcor’s lab portfolio after launch in Q1 2020.
In late 2018 Alcor asked us to lead the development of a novel new hardware and software architecture for a new lab device they were bringing to market, the mini iSED. This new architecture would move much of the smarts to a Linux-based system-on-module chip, allowing for the use of modern software to drive much of the robotics orchestration and user interface.
Launching in Q1 2020, the mini iSED transformed Alcor’s business, and this new architecture became the foundation for all of their lab devices.
